Step 1: Book a buyer consultation
At a buyer consultation, you’ll meet with an experienced buyer’s agent to discuss the process of buying a house, lender recommendations, and your needs regarding your home purchase. We’ll also discuss the following topics to help match you with an agent that best meets your needs:
Which neighborhood(s) are you interested in exploring?
What’s your preferred monthly budget for home expenses?
What are the items that you absolutely must have in a home? What are the items that you absolutely must not have in a home?
What is your comfort level with homes requiring some updating?
What’s your preferred timeline for moving?
What are your needs regarding showing times and communication styles?
Step 2: Apply for your loan pre-approval and start the house shopping process
In your buyer consultation, we’ll recommend several trusted lenders who can help you understand what is required to obtain a home mortgage, and who can pre-approve you for a loan amount within a budget you feel comfortable with.
After you’ve obtained your pre-approval, we’ll schedule several ‘no pressure’ showings with you to look at a variety of house styles, neighborhoods, and price points so your agent can learn what best suits your needs and preferences. We’ll also use these showings as hands on education in house shopping basics. We’ll discuss:
Areas of a home we want to pay special attention to on every showing
Differences in homes at different price points and different areas
Market dynamics in different neighborhoods and price points
Common issues in different eras of homes
Step 3: Buy a house!
Once we’ve gained a solid understanding of your needs and preferences and you’ve gained an understanding of what you’re looking for in a house, market dynamics, and house shopping basics, it’s time to buy a house! We’ll work with your schedule to book showings at times that are convenient to you when houses hit the market.
Once you’ve found a house you love, we’ll work with you to craft the best possible offer for the current market dynamic. Our agents are experienced negotiators who have successfully navigated multiple offer scenarios to get clients the home of their dreams!
After your offer is accepted, we’ll work with you to identify inspectors, title companies, and contractors who can help get us from accepted offer to keys in hand! We’ll work closely with you, your lending team, and the title company to get you to closing day as smoothly as possible.
